A Landmark Text
Hebrews 11:2 (KJV)
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
There are several passages that I would call “landmark.” They are key to Christian life.
- Psalms 1
- John 3:16
- The Sermon on the Mount
There are others, of course.
Hebrews 11 is high on the list of landmark texts.
- It surveys the whole of the Old Testament
- It establishes the role of faith in Christian life
- It encourages the saint to act but to act in faith in Christ and not the power of the flesh
- It teaches us how to have a good report with both God and man.
